Coming Soon · RISE Centre
Every child can rise.
The RISE Centre is coming soon to Rochford's — a dedicated space to support learners with special educational needs alongside an international education.

Support built around your child
At Rochford's, we already assess every child on competency and readiness, not age. RISE will extend that philosophy to learners who need additional support, helping them learn with confidence at their own pace.
Who RISE is for
RISE is for children who learn differently and would benefit from extra structure, time or encouragement. Every child is an individual, so we will always start with your child, not a label. You do not need a formal diagnosis to talk to us.
Reading and writing
Children with dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties that make reading, spelling or handwriting harder.
Attention and focus
Children with ADHD, or who find it hard to settle, organise their work or stay on task.
Autism
Autistic children, who may value predictable routines, clear communication and a calm, sensory-friendly space.
Speech, language and communication
Children who find it harder to understand, express themselves or join in conversation.
Other learning differences
Children with other learning needs, or who simply need a gentler pace and more confidence for a while.
How RISE will work
Every family's journey will be different, but this is how RISE aims to support your child:
-
Getting to know your child
A relaxed first meeting with you and your child, and a short, friendly assessment to understand where they are and how they learn best. Please bring any reports you already have.
-
An individual learning plan
Together we agree clear, achievable goals and the support that will help your child reach them, set out in a plan you can see.
-
Small-group and one-to-one support
Focused sessions in a calm space, at a pace that suits your child, to build key skills and confidence.
-
Learning alongside mainstream classes
Wherever it is right for your child, RISE aims to support them within our modular IGCSE programme, learning with classmates and moving on module by module as they are ready.
-
Regular parent updates
You will hear from us regularly about how your child is doing, and we will review the plan with you as they grow.

What we are building
RISE is being designed to give SEN learners the understanding, structure and encouragement they need to thrive. Full details will be shared when the centre opens. Contact admissions for details.

What a week could look like
Each child's week will follow their own plan. As an example, a week might include:
- Time in regular classes, with support where it helps
- Short small-group sessions on reading, writing, maths or communication
- One-to-one time to practise specific skills
- Calm breaks in a quiet space whenever they are needed
- A regular check on progress towards the goals in their plan

Support in IGCSE exams
Both of our exam boards, Pearson Edexcel and OxfordAQA, offer access arrangements: approved adjustments, such as extra time, a reader, a scribe or a word processor, that help students with learning difficulties or disabilities show what they know without changing what the exam assesses.
Arrangements are decided by the exam board, must be applied for and approved before the exam, and should reflect how a student normally works in class. That is why RISE aims to build the right support into everyday learning early, and to talk with you well ahead of exams about whether your child may be eligible.
Questions parents ask about RISE
When will RISE open?
RISE is coming soon. We will share full details, including the start date, when the centre opens. Register your interest below and we will keep you updated.
Does my child need a formal diagnosis?
No. You are welcome to talk to us without one. If you have reports from a doctor, psychologist or therapist, please share them, as they help us understand your child. If not, we will start with what you have noticed at home and at school.
Will my child still follow the IGCSE programme?
That is the aim wherever it is right for your child. Rochford's is an approved IGCSE school with Pearson Edexcel and OxfordAQA pathways, and every learner moves on module by module when they are ready, which suits many children who learn differently.
Can my child get extra time in exams?
Possibly. Extra time and other access arrangements are decided by the exam board, based on evidence of need and how your child normally works. We will talk this through with you well before exams.
How will I know how my child is doing?
You will receive regular updates on progress, and we will review your child's learning plan with you, so you always know what is working and what comes next.
What will RISE cost?
Details of RISE support, including any fees, will be confirmed when the centre opens. You can see our school fees now, or ask our admissions team.

What we believe
Every Child Has Value
“There is no such thing as a useless child. Every child is born with great value in itself.”
Louis Rozario Doss, former principal of St Michael's Institution, Ipoh
We believe that too. Every child who joins us is valued equally and welcomed as they are. We place each one by competency and readiness, not age, then coach them step by step to discover their strengths, grow in confidence and succeed.
